Members of our Student Council were invited to ‘Have a Say’ about the future growth of the Busselton community at a workshop facilitated by the City of Busselton’s VISION 2030 team at the College on Monday afternoon.

VISION 2030 is a community consultation project launched by the City of Busselton on 1 July 2016 encouraging feedback from groups and individuals to help map out the community’s future needs and aspirations.

Students worked in groups based on their age and brainstormed ideas about how they would like our community to look in 2020, 2025 and 2030. They considered what their priorities would be at each of these years and what facilities and services they would like to see available.

The team from VISION 2030 left with a comprehensive list of ideas ranging from fun recreational suggestions such a theme parks, ice skating rinks and new centralised sporting facilities to an improved public transport system, performing arts centre and access to more medical treatments to allow patients to be treated in Busselton.

The student councillors enjoyed the opportunity to help shape the future of Busselton. If you wish to have input, jump online to yoursay.busselton.wa.gov.au.
