Starting this week, a group of students in Year 5 will be supplying data for the Scitech Weather Wall during term 4, which is broadcast each Friday as part of the weather report for GWN7 News.
The students will use equipment supplied by Scitech to measure the local minimum and maximum temperature, rainfall, wind direction and cloud types. This activity is designed to develop their Science inquiry skills and inspire them to understand the importance of weather forecasting.
Year 5 teacher Mrs Natalie Power said the project will also help the students to apply mathematical concepts such as data recording and graphing to real life situations.
