The College’s commitment to nurturing a lifetime love of learning is not just for our students, as our staff are encouraged to develop new skills and seek new challenges.
Following on from woodworking sessions last term, a group of aspiring artists from among our staff has been coming together on a Thursday after school this term to express their creative side through oil painting. The subject matter is varied and the emphasis is on the ‘process not the product’, according to GATE Coordinator and local artist, Catherine Christie, who coordinates the sessions. “Art should not be thought of as a competitive sport!”
Staff are enjoying the opportunity to get in tune with their creative sides and appreciate the diversity of art produced in a relaxed and encouraging setting.
