Grounds Person

- 52 weeks (4 weeks annual leave) commencing 1 January 2025
- 3 days per week (ideally Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) - 7.5 hours per day

The primary function of the role is to work as a member of the Grounds Department with the aim to maintain the excellent presentation of our College grounds, buildings and facilities. This role is responsible for the setup (for sport and/or functions) and cleaning of the Gym and other facilities as directed. The Groundsperson is accountable to the Business Manager and will report directly to the Head of Grounds & Building Maintenance.
We are seeking someone that:
- Can work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of a team
- Has excellent interpersonal skills
- Has the ability to exercise discretion, use initiative and solve problems
- Is flexible in working arrangements and is flexible to work outside of normal hours when required
- Is able to perform physical labour indoors and outdoors on a daily basis
The successful applicant:
- A willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the St Mary MacKillop College community.
- A Working with Children's Clearance and National Police Criminal History Check.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, or proven experience within a horticulture or trade setting.
- Will possess a current Crimtrack or be prepared to obtain
- Possess a MR(medium rigid) or LR (light rigid) licence or willing to obtain. Whilst not essential, would be an advantage
