Groundsperson

52 weeks (4 weeks annual leave) commencing Semester 2, 2025
3 days per week (ideally Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) - 7.5 hours per day

The primary function of the role is to work as a member of the Grounds Department with the aim to maintain the excellent presentation of our College grounds, buildings and facilities. The Groundsperson is accountable to the Business Manager and will report directly to the Head of Grounds & Building Maintenance.
We are seeking someone that:
- Can work collaboratively as a member of a team
- Has excellent interpersonal skills
- Has the ability to exercise discretion, use initiative and solve problems
- Is flexible in working arrangements and is flexible to work outside of normal hours when required
- Is able to perform physical labour indoors and outdoors on a daily basis
The successful applicant will have:
- A willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the St Mary MacKillop College community
- A Working with Children's Clearance and National Police Criminal History Check
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, or proven experience within a horticulture or trade setting
- Possess a MR(medium rigid) or LR (light rigid) licence or willing to obtain. Whilst not essential, this would be advantageous
