Primary Teacher (Early Years)

Commencing Term 3 2022, this is a full-time, temporary position covering maternity leave

A St Mary MacKillop College teacher encourages each student to discover and develop their interests and talents in order to become the best they can be. Providing innovative and best practice teaching, students will grow and develop lifelong learning attributes.

Reporting to the Head of Primary the role of a St Mary MacKillop College teacher is to plan, organise and deliver educational programs, modelled within the Catholic Ethos, in a positive learning environment.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A relevant 4 year Teaching qualification in Early Childhood Education or Primary Education
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education (or working towards)
  • Willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the St Mary MacKillop College community.
  • Current Teachers Registration and Working with Children Check
  • A valid National Police Criminal History Check
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or original copy of valid exemption - in accordance with the Government health directives.

  • Provides a nurturing and supportive environment inspiring students to develop a love of learning
  • Has proven experience teaching using Explicit Instruction pedagogy
  • Is competent with the use of technology in the classroom, online strategies and digital process software
  • Possess team work skills that contribute to productive working relationships and outcomes
