Team Leader – Primary Learning Support

Reporting to the Head of Primary, this newly created position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Educator in Learning Support to oversee a team of Educators and take responsibility for the inclusion of students with disability and additional learning needs from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the St Mary MacKillop College community.
  • A relevant teaching qualification in Primary, as well as post graduate qualifications in Special Educational Needs.
  • Current Teachers Registration.
  • Current Working with Children Check and valid Crim Check.

  • Gives assistance to staff, families and students in supporting Students with Disability and/or Learning Difficulties throughout the Primary Campus.
  • Has a positive, compassionate nature with highly effective written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses excellent leadership and organisational skills.
  • Will monitor, assess and report on student outcomes in accordance with students Individual Educational Plans.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding all aspects of College students, staff, procedures and practices.
  • Possess an understanding of the legislative requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (1992) and the Disability Standards for Education (2005).
