Year 6 students celebrate their Confirmation

Year 6 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation at Our Lady of the Bay Church, in Busselton on Sunday 20 August.

All students in Year 6 have focused on learning about the sacrament and their own spiritual growth over the past term. The 44 candidates were very well prepared, with plenty of support from classmates during their journey.

Perth Scorchers give kids a go at cricket

The Perth Scorchers Bus visited the College last Wednesday to give students the opportunity to have a go at playing cricket.

Facilitated by the South West Cricket Development Office, the sessions gave students a chance to try out the sport, with the aim of promoting cricket to ages 7-12.

The activities continue the College’s primary sports program of refining fundamental movement skills to develop specific skills used in organized games such as cricket.

St Joseph’s Wyndham grateful for library donations

Staff and students of St Joseph’s Wyndham were very grateful for the donation of books and headphones from our Annual Book Fair, presented at the school's assembly at the end of last term.

"I wish I could have captured the excitement and joy on the faces of the students" said Peta Somma, who visited the school with her daughter Gabriella while on leave, and presented the donations at the assembly.

EChO takes students on musical journey into space

Students on the Primary campus enjoyed a musical treat last Wednesday when WASO’s Education Chamber Orchestra (EChO) came to the College to present EChO: the first Gecko in Space!

Designed to introduce students to the instruments of the orchestra through famous repertoire and popular favourites, this fun, interactive and engaging performance took students into space and back through their responses to classical music.

MacKillop Rocks Holiday Fun

To encourage students to get outside over the holidays in between the rain, and to create a fun College community event, the Student Council set up a rock painting emporium in the Primary Campus undercover area at the end of last term, to create rock treasures to be hidden, found and enjoyed by other families over the break.

Assembly and Awards 3JK: exploring change

Year 3 students in Room 10 have been exploring change across all learning areas during Term Two. They have been researching how change impacts our interests, life cycles, the environment and where they live.

The Room 10 assembly started with a PowerPoint display of open-ended projects where students had researched a person, event or invention that has changed our history.

Low Key Lunchtimes in the Library

When the weather turns cold and wet, sometimes you just want somewhere warm and dry… and quiet.

Mindful Mondays in the library has been operating since August last year, providing a space for primary students to sit and read or do mindful colouring in - with no talking.
