Assembly and Awards 4SM: World Explorers

The theme for Mrs Moon’s Year 4 class assembly last Friday 16 June was 'World Explorers'. The Year 4 students have been ‘exploring’ this theme across History, English and Technology & Enterprise during this term.

The assembly began with a brief introduction to the 'Age of Exploration', during the fifteenth to seventeenth century, and the influences that these journeys had on the world.

Year 5/6 Winter Sports Day in Bunbury

The Year 5 and 6 students represented our College at the South West Primary Schools Association (SWPSA) Winter Sports Carnival on Thursday 8 June, at Hay Park in Bunbury. Students chose to participate in hockey, netball, football or soccer in teams against other schools, on what turned out to be a gorgeous winter’s day with sunny blue skies.

National Simultaneous Storytime

“It’s a story about perseverance. It’s a story about training. It’s a story about cows smacking into meteorites and hot air balloons, and sand dunes.”

All of our Primary classes enjoyed reading The Cow Tripped over the Moon last Wednesday for the National Simultaneous Story-time.

Assembly and Awards (3RT): Welcome to All People

Last Friday’s Assembly was co-ordinated by Mr Thomson’s Year 3 class, who have been looking at our College value of Inclusion. They have been listening to ‘dreamtime’ stories as they learn about Aboriginal culture in their recent History lessons. Students showed some of their own versions of traditional dot paintings by various Indigenous artists.

Congratulations to our MiniLit graduates

Take the ‘Read to Rio’ Book Challenge

Our primary students will be taking part in a 'Read to Rio' Book Challenge, to coincide with the Olympic Games.

The challenge is to read as many books as you can from the school library over the two weeks beginning Monday 8 August (weeks 4 and 5). The library is open before and after school (8:00am – 3:45pm) and during lunchtimes for students to swap books, and a tally will be kept of the number of books that each student reads.
