Year 10s take new mountain-bikes to ‘Secret Whicher’

Over the last few weeks our Year 10 Outdoor Education students have been learning the fundamental skills of mountain-bike riding and bicycle maintenance. On the 31st March both classes headed to a trail called ‘Secret Whicher’ in heavily bushed area off Sues Road, about 25 minutes away from the College, to put their skills to the test.
Cricket 2016 season summary

St Mary MacKillop College 1st XI played commendably in this year’s Kim Hughes Shield South West competition, defeating Bunbury Senior High School and Manea, but struggling against Dalyellup and Bunbury Catholic College in the middle rounds.
Fraser Oates was one of our standout performers, scoring 202 runs across four innings, with a highest score of 75 not out.

Literature Festival

On Friday the 18 March the College held its first ever Literature Festival. In conjunction with Dymocks Busselton, 11 authors, illustrators and artists and 270 students from other schools around the region joined 750 of our own students on the grounds of our beautiful College to enjoy a day of lectures, workshops and meet the author sessions.

When the doors opened at the new St Mary MacKillop College this month, primary students also had a new and unique classroom to enjoy - without any doors at all!
In fact Primary science teacher Miss Louise Cranley has even left out ceiling and walls with the completion of a sustainable garden and outdoor teaching space.
