Casual Canteen Assistant

St Mary MacKillop College is seeking a casual Canteen Assistant to support the Canteen Manager in the day-to-day operation of the College Canteen.
The successful applicant will assist with a range of canteen duties, including food preparation and assembly, serving students, cleaning and maintaining the canteen, restocking supplies and providing friendly and efficient customer service.
The role involves working collaboratively with the Canteen Manager, College staff, students, parents and volunteers to ensure the canteen operates smoothly and provides a welcoming service to the College community.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience in food preparation, cooking or food service, preferably in a commercial environment.
  • A sound understanding of food handling and hygiene practices.
  • An understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact positively with students and members of the College community.
  • A current Working with Children Check and National Criminal History Check or be willing to obtain these.
