The recent Work Experience Week for Year 10 students at St Mary MacKillop College proved to be an invaluable experience, offering students a firsthand look into the working world while helping them make informed decisions about their future pathways. The Year 10 Work Experience program is a cornerstone of the College’s Pathways program, designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application and is one many opportunities that they available to students to assist in selecting a future pathway in Year 11 and 12.
Employers across a range of industries have consistently praised the students for their professionalism, enthusiasm, and strong work ethic. Many commented on the students’ excellent manners and willingness to learn, highlighting how well they represented the College in the wider community. In some cases, students made such a positive impression that they were offered part-time positions as well as opportunities to discuss a School-Based Traineeship following their placements. This feedback not only reflects the character and preparedness of our students but also reinforces the value of work experience as a platform for building meaningful professional relationships in our wider community.
