K-12 Social Worker/Counsellor

We are a vibrant College committed to providing the best educational and pastoral care for our students. We are seeking a School Social Worker to join our dedicated team.
The successful applicant will contribute to the assessment of children for learning needs, provide counselling, and provide advice to staff on youth mental health issues.
Key elements of the role will include, but are not limited to:
- Assessment of mental health issues.
- Provide counselling for students, staff and families for a range of mental health, emotional and family issues including crisis counselling.
- Providing advice to teaching staff on mental health and pastoral issues within the classroom setting.
- Liaise with specialist community organisations and agencies as needed.
- Maintain student information to meet regulatory requirements.
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in either Social Work or Counselling.
- Experience working with child and adolescent mental health.
- The ability to provide support with educational and pastoral programs.
- The ability to train staff in matters relating to mental health and student wellbeing.
- Current Working with Children check and National Criminal History Check.
- Registration with Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency (AHPRA), as relevant.
- Empathy and a strong commitment to helping others.
- Strong administration and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a school setting
