Primary Music Teacher

Commencing in 2027, this is an ongoing position 0.8 FTE over four days

A St Mary MacKillop College teacher encourages each student to discover and develop their interests and talents in order to become the best they can be. Providing innovative and best practice teaching, students will grow and develop lifelong learning attributes.

Reporting to the Head of Primary and the Head of The Arts K – 12, this position is responsible for planning, organising and delivering educational programs, modelled within the Catholic Ethos, in a positive learning environment.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Willingness to promote and support Catholic ethos as a member of the St Mary MacKillop College community.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Primary Education with a sound knowledge of current educational theory and curriculum relevant to teaching music from Years 1 – 6.
  • Previous experience running a choir would be advantageous.
  • Completion of, working towards, or a willingness to complete Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School.
  • A current Teachers Registration
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • A valid National Police Criminal History Check

  • Is a vibrant, passionate and enthusiastic educator.
  • Provides a nurturing and supportive environment inspiring students to develop a love of learning.
  • Has proven experience and enthusiasm for teaching music from Years 1 – 6.
  • Has previous experience coordinating events, such as an end of year concert, Eisteddfod items and liturgical celebrations.
  • Is competent with the use of technology in the classroom, online strategies and digital process software.
  • Possess teamwork skills that contribute to productive working relationships and outcomes.
