Our Week 3 Assembly was co-ordinated by Mrs Kane and the Year 3 students from Room 11, who began by sharing some of their class artwork. These included drawings of the Busselton Jetty scratched out of black paint over oil pastels; a collaged map of Australia; spooky owls painted over a moonlit night created with oil pastels; watercolour pencil masterpieces using masking with glue and black paint.

The Year 3s have also been enjoying poems and showed some of the artwork they had created from their weekly poems. They performed 'Mr Nobody'. They also read the ‘My Wonderful Aunt’ series of books by Margaret Mahy, and shared with us the fourth book, which has her building a house in the forest with help from lots of different animals.

The students then sang Christine Anu’s version of ‘My Island Home’, which they also communicated in sign language. They asked the audience to applaud at the end, as the hearing impaired do, by waving their hands.

At the end of the assembly, the class called on students from each class to collect Thank You cards the Year 3 students had made for all the teachers to celebrate World Teachers Day.
