Environment

St Mary MacKillop College encourages a love of life and a vibrant outlook by nurturing students throughout their whole school education. Respect and care for the environment is a part of our FIRST principles, and all students and staff take responsibility.

The Environment Club provides opportunities for students to be proactive in making a difference in their community, and members have been instrumental in bringing a number of environmental initiatives to the College, including:

  • rainwater tanks
  • solar panels
  • waterless urinals
  • annual recycled sculpture competition

The Primary School involves all students in an annual waste audit, and has an established worm farm and sustainable garden on campus. In 2016 the College will seek to expand membership of the Environment Club to include primary school students.
