Literature Festival Primary day: Friday 24 March

Literature Festival Primary day: Friday 24 March

A number of local authors and illustrators are visiting the Primary campus on Friday 24 March to run workshops as part of our Between the Lines Literature Festival in association with Dymocks. Students from a number of other schools in the area will also join in many of the sessions.

Sally Murphy, author of Meet Mary MacKillop, will visit our students from Year 1, 4 and 5, as well as reading excerpts and discussing her Sage Cookson books with the Year 3 girls.

Illustrator on The last Viking, James Foley, is keen to discuss his new graphic novel Brobot with Year 2 students as well as the Year 3 boys, while our Year 5 students will also meet with Dianne Wolfer, author of Shark Caller.

The Year 4 students will also get to meet Riddle Gully Mysteries author Jen Banyard, and Norman Jorgensen, author of Jack’s Island and Smuggler’s Cove, will meet our Year 6 students and Year 5 boys.

Secondary students will have a chance to meet authors and participate in discussions and workshops on Thursday 23 March as part of the two-day festival.

Dymocks will have a stall running during the festival, giving students and parents the opportunity to purchase books by visiting authors/illustrators and get them signed.
