2018 High Tea for Timor

2018 High Tea for Timor

The 2018 High Tea for Timor was held in the College Gymnasium on Saturday 19 May. Guests were treated to an afternoon of delicate treats, coffee and tea, raffle prizes and a fabulous silent auction.

The event was a huge success, raising almost $10,000 from the tickets, raffles and auction items thanks to the generosity of guests and the support of many local businesses – from Nina’s who donated the diamond earrings and voucher for the major raffle to the hire of round tables, donated by Wonderland Tents & Events.

2017 graduate Frances Venecourt spoke about last year’s Timor Trip, and the benefits of experiencing first-hand the impact of the team’s fundraising efforts on these remote communities.
Timor students mingled with guests throughout the afternoon, selling raffle tickets. They also had help serving food and drinks from many Year 8-12 student volunteers as part of the College’s Service Learning Program.

Tickets for the major raffle, which was launched at the High Tea and will be drawn on Wednesday 20 June, are available from Timor students and their families as well as at all College receptions. First prize is a pair of 9ct white gold hoop earrings with 32 white diamonds valued at $910, plus a $200 voucher for Nina’s, and second prize is a 0.24ct round, brilliant cut Diavik diamond valued at $1000 (valuation certificate included). Third Prize is a bedding package valued at $850, including a Queen size mattress, two Memory Foam pillows, a Queen size quilt cover and shaggy throw rug.
