Mission Mart

Mission Mart

As well as celebrating our Mother’s Day Liturgy on Friday 6 May, the Year 1 and Year 4 classes held their Mission Mart, with all primary students looking colourful in their ‘free dress’ for a gold coin donation.

The Year 1 classes provided the wonderful cake stall which everyone enjoyed, while the Year 4 classes organized entertaining activities for all the students at lunch time. Thank you to Year 1 parents who brought in cakes and slices and to the parent volunteers, teachers and Year 4 students who sold these treats to students at recess.

Lunch time involved a variety of games and stalls which were designed, organised and run by groups of Year 4 students. These included a second hand toy stall and book stall, with families generously donating their unused toys and books during the week. The toy stall was a hit, raising over $120.00 and the book stall came a close second at $65.00. There was also pin the tail on the dog, Nerf gun targets, treasure hunt, guess the jellybeans, lucky number pop sticks and basketball shots.

Students from Year 1-6 had a wonderful extended lunch time participating in multiple games. Thank you to Year 4 parents for contributing prizes and/or equipment needed for the games. It was a very exciting day for all, with fine weather allowing for games to be held on the basketball courts and oval as well as the undercover area.

Funds raised for the Sisters of St Joseph Missions in Peru totalled more than $1500, which was a fantastic effort by everyone.
