After much anticipation, the Year 12 Hospitality students prepared their first meal in the new commercial kitchen last Thursday and Friday.
It has been a very busy start to Term 2 with the students being involved in the unpacking of all the new equipment and serving items, as well as completing paperwork demonstrating their competency in clean kitchen premises and equipment.
With everything now in its place and ready to use, students and a few lucky staff members were treated to a delicious lunch of caramelised onion tart with roasted beetroot and balsamic glaze, served with rocket and goat’s cheese.
The MacKillop Café is also open again in its new location on Tuesday and Friday lunchtimes, and fellow Year 12 students are making the most of the new seating area and hot beverages available.
