Young Readers and Writers Festival: author visits

Young Readers and Writers Festival: author visits

Our library staff have been very busy lately, with a number of authors visiting from the Margaret River Young Readers and Writers Festival, as well as the National Simultaneous Story Time and our Monster Book Fair on Wednesday night.

Author Louise Park spoke with Kindergarten to Year 2 students about her book series, which include Zac Powers and Harriet Clare, and Frog and the Well author and cartoonist Josh Langley spoke to students in Year 3 and 4 about using their imagination.

On Monday and Tuesday this week, the College also enjoyed a belated visit from scientist and writer Dr Bryan Fry, who had many fascinating tales to tell about his adventures with venomous creatures and his scientific discoveries from his memoir Venom Doc. Wednesday author and TV presenter Andrew Daddo also shared with Year 10 students about his new novel One Step, which presents an honest portrayal of bullying for young adults.
