Year 7-9 vocal students travelled to Mandurah on Wednesday to participate in a three-hour workshop with Australia’s premier vocal group ‘The Idea of North’.
In the evening our Year 7 students, in their first ever public performance, were the opening act at the Lakes Theatre at Mandurah Baptist College. Vocal ensembles from the six schools attending the workshop also performed, and then all students took to the stage with ’The Idea of North’ to close the first half with a Michael Jackson ‘mash-up’ they had been learning.
In the second half ‘The Idea of North’ entertained students, staff and parents with some unique a capella performances that showcased their broad vocal talents and also reinforced what students had learnt from the workshop.
