Sixteen Pre Primary students have graduated from the ELK Room’s MiniLit Program for Semester One. The students have thoroughly enjoyed fun based daily literacy sessions to enhance their knowledge, and have taken the time to share their experiences with their class peers.
MiniLit is a small group early intervention program that consists of sound and word activities, text reading and storybook reading in four 1-hour sessions over 20 weeks. It is the product of an ongoing specialist research and development project with Macquarie University, and stands for ‘Meeting Initial Needs in Literacy’.
