Our Week 8 Assembly was co-ordinated by Mr Magee and Mrs Philp’s Year 3 class, who showcased what they have been learning recently about Australia and the Olympics. The students had lots of facts to share about each state, including each of the animal and flower emblems, capital cities, flags and notable landmarks.
They also featured profiles of a Rio Olympian from each state, what sport they competed in, as well as other interesting facts about them.
To conclude the assembly, Year 3 students led their classmates in singing A Song of Peace (written by Teresa Jennings), to remind us of the true spirit behind the Olympic Games. Well done to Taylor Webster and Beau Johnson, Isabel Chandler and Katie Po, as well as Asha Munro and Amelia Wanless, for their brave and beautiful duet performances that brought a few tears to the eye.
