Creative new playgrounds

Where has all our playground equipment gone?

During the holiday break, the swings and climbing equipment in both the Early Learning Centre and the Junior playground were removed to make way for some new and exciting play spaces, due to be installed by the end of this month.

New additions to our Early Learning Centre playground will include sand play and climbing units to help students develop their gross and fine motor skills. A new double swing set will also feature a ‘flying saucer’ basket.

The Centre has grown in size over the break, with the relocation of Joey’s Playgroup to the Parish Community Centre, and our grounds staff have been busy landscaping the existing spaces to create a variety of environments where our littlest students can play and explore.

The additional play space created will host a large wooden boat with accompanying dress-ups for creative play. Teaching staff have also designed a new sensory garden, which will go in once all the new playground equipment has been installed.

The rest of the primary campus will not feel like they missed out, though, because they also have new equipment coming to the Junior Playground, near the oval. A fantastic ‘playship’ is on its way, as well as a 6.2m high climbing tower complete with ropes, nets and baskets.
