Introducing our new Principal, Frank Norton

Our new principal, Frank Norton, is father and husband to a family of teachers. “Jen and I have always loved our jobs and despite the amount of work they see us do, both Jackson and Madi wanted to follow the same path – they both seem to be great teachers.” His wife Jenny teaches Pre Primary; his daughter is a Year 1 teacher in Parmelia and his son is Head of Sport at Carey Baptist College.

He says the best thing about teaching is the people: students, staff and parents. “From day one as a maths teacher I loved it. I get a unique opportunity to be part of the lives of the students and have them influence mine.”

Coming to us from Lumen Christi College in Perth’s south-east, Frank has always lived in Perth, apart from four years in Karratha for his first teaching appointment. He loves his sport and has enjoyed bit parts in the Half Ironman events here over a number of years.

His first impressions of the College have been overwhelmingly positive. “It is a beautiful school and the students and staff have been wonderfully welcoming. Being K – 12 just presents so many exciting possibilities”, he remarks. “One minute I’m on a chair 10 centimetres high talking to the Pre-Primaries about being courageous and the next discussing career opportunities or our support trip to Timor with Year 12s, it’s fantastic.” Frank is excited about continuing to provide an environment where each student can develop real depth of character and the College can provide a seamless educational experience from the moment the Kindy students start to when they leave as young adults looking to make a significant contribution to the lives of others in our world.
