National Simultaneous Storytime

“It’s a story about perseverance. It’s a story about training. It’s a story about cows smacking into meteorites and hot air balloons, and sand dunes.”

All of our Primary classes enjoyed reading The Cow Tripped over the Moon last Wednesday for the National Simultaneous Story-time. Some classes were even able to watch author Tony Wilson reading the book via videolink. Tony wrote this delightful picture book for his young son, who has cerebral palsy, and says “it’s also about friends helping a cow in need, and it’s about triumph.”

National Simultaneous Story-time is an annual campaign that aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books.

Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by Australians, is read simultaneously around the country. This year we were one of the 6,129 schools, libraries, childcare centres, pre-schools and communities across Australia who participated with over 686,324 adults and children taking part.
