Students on the Primary campus enjoyed a musical treat last Wednesday when WASO’s Education Chamber Orchestra (EChO) came to the College to present EChO: the first Gecko in Space!
Designed to introduce students to the instruments of the orchestra through famous repertoire and popular favourites, this fun, interactive and engaging performance took students into space and back through their responses to classical music.
The 18-piece ensemble included brass, strings, percussion and woodwind sections, and played excerpts from Mozart, Beethoven and Holst’s orchestral suite The Planets, finishing with everyone dancing to the Star Wars ‘Cantina Band’.
Students and staff alike were delighted with the performance.
