Scott Darlow talks reconciliation

Aboriginal singer/songwriter Scott Darlow entertained and educated Year 11 Religion and Life classes on Tuesday 13 February. His relaxed and personal delivery helped to drive home his message of Reconciliation as he gave a brief overview of Australia’s history and some of the impacts on aboriginal culture and families.

As a trained teacher, World Vision representative and international performer, Scott was able to give a very engaging, at times moving and sometimes humorous presentation that powerfully portrayed the issues faced by aboriginal people to this day. Drawing on his own family’s experiences and referring to other well-known indigenous Australians, he left students with an acronym (F.L.U.T.E.) aimed at trying to make a positive change so that the future is more hopeful than the past.
