Students in Mrs Harding’s Kindy class enjoyed an amazing, hands-on cultural experience recently on a visit to the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse.
The children took a walk around the lighthouse with indigenous custodian, Josh Whiteland, who helped them to interpret the landscape through the eyes of the Wadandi people.
The class then gathered at the private Koomal Dreaming Meeting Place for an interactive experience with Aboriginal artefacts, where they participated in fire starting, music and dance.
With the fine weather, the students were also able to enjoy a picnic lunch in the Lighthouse grounds to finish off what was an ‘awesome’ day.
