Yr9 Canberra Trip

Yr9 Canberra Trip

Forty students and four teachers set off for Canberra in the early hours of Saturday 10 August. The students were undertaking an educational tour of the National Capital. Whilst on the tour, they participated in a variety of educational programs focused on Australian history, culture, heritage and democracy.

The Australian Government recognizes the importance of all young Australians being able to visit their National Capital as part of their civics and citizenship education. To assist parents in meeting the cost of the excursion, the Australian Government contributes funding of $340 per eligible student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) program towards the travel expenses incurred. This contribution is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.

We would like to thank the Australian Government for their continued support of this program. We also thank Ms Helen Barry, Miss Deanna Tonon, Mr Andrew Culnane and Mr Paul Culnane for accompanying the students. We hope that the excursion was a rewarding experience for all the students.
