Year 10 MacKillop student Eleanor Brown recently had her artwork selected as one of three winning t-shirt designs to celebrate National Tree Day this year.

Students across Australia were invited to create a simple black and white artwork that reflected what trees mean to them. Eleanor’s design depicts Mother Nature, with a forest of trees in her hair. A shortlist was then presented for voting online, with the three winning designs printed on limited edition t-shirts, ethically produced at Humiform.

Eleanor’s t-shirt design is available to pre-order for a limited time, with $1 from each sale going to the Seedling Bank to supply native seedlings to schools and community groups around Australia. The remainder of profits will fund education programs and events empowering young people to become active citizens and change makers.

This year’s National Tree Day is on Friday 31 July.
