Book Week: reading, writing and…dressing up

Author Deb Fitzpatrick visited the Secondary library on Monday to kick off Book Week this year, holding a writing workshop and meet-the-author sessions with Year 9 students.

Once again the Great Book Swap was a huge success, as students scooped up stacks of literary bargains during lunchtimes this week, with all gold coin donations going to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

On Thursday the Library hosted their annual Literary Luncheon for Year 11/12 Literature students, with a host of book characters from Alice in Wonderland to Ophelia & Gertrude from Hamlet who all enjoyed a delicious feast.

A ‘Fantasy Hat’ morning tea was also held on Friday for Year 7 students, who donned some creative headpieces inspired by books and book characters.
