Environment Sculpture Winners

Students went all out with their creativity in this year’s Environment Sculpture Competition, which was judged on MacKillop Day. With many thought-provoking and clever entries, judging proved difficult, but in the end Robbie Wackerbarth once again came through with an impressive metal shark sculpture labelled ‘don’t cull Bruce’. Second prize went to Lindsay Ward for a colourful ‘Toy World’, which urged us to consider the destructive impact of this multi-trillion dollar plastics business. Lanah Burge picked up third with another piece of clever furniture design, this time from recycled bicycle wheels.

Other notable installations included a number of metal and wire sculptures, an elegant peacock, a metal skeleton on wooden pallet chair and a Mickey Mouse mosaic from plastic lids. Well done to all students and staff who entered and took the time to creatively draw our attention to the environment and to what we throw away.
