MacKillop students shine at 2016 Rising Sports Star Awards

On Friday night we had a celebration of the young sporting talent from around the south west with the Rising Sports Star Awards. Each month a local young sporting star is selected and then receives a monthly prize with an article in the Times.

From the 12 monthly finalists MacKillop shone with seven students being nominated. Jasmine Wallace (Hockey), Ross Rann(Swimming), Riley Culnane(Netball), Connor Smith (Cricket), Damon Greaves(AFL), Hayley Johnson(Sailing) and Demi Liddle(Basketball).

The night recognised a variety of sports, ranging from AFL through to underwater hockey.

From these outstanding young athletes MacKillop students received the top three awards for the night.

The encouragement award was given to Riley Culnane, the runner up was given to Hayley Johnson and the winner of the night was Conner Smith.

We have an outstanding amount of sporting talent in our school. If there is something in the water at this school, we must have a lot of thirsty kids.
