AFL: Girls and Boys represent in ACC Shield

The College sent over seventy Year 7 students to Hay Park in Bunbury on 2 August to compete in the South West Division of the ACC Freo Dockers Shield, including a boys team and, for the first time, two teams of girls.

With five games to play for each team, it was a very busy day, and all students should be commended for their wonderful enthusiasm, teamwork and skills.

Both girls teams won three of their five games, and were so evenly matched that when they played against each other, there was only a point separating them in the end. The boys team also played extremely well, going down to the winners of the day Mandurah Baptist College by a single goal.

Special mention to the boys’ best players Harris Craig, Marley Habel, Kaiya Phillips, Alex Batley, Indie Hill, Luca Davis, Lachlan Wood and Josh Harris. Best players for the girls included Claudia Gilmore, Lahni Dallimore, Ebony Hay, Kiara Durell, Jazmin Martin and Amber Conlon for team 1, as well as Ellie Drown, Lily Regan, Shannon Andrews, Eliza Sheehan and Caitlin Sheridan in team 2.

Thank you to coaches Mr Mark Taylor, Miss Deanna Tonon and Mr Ben Horrocks, and to Ms Sandy Smith for assistance on the day.
