The Secondary campus Inter House Swimming Carnival was held at the Geographe Leisure Centre on Friday 17 February 2017. We have had an impressive number of students attending training in the two weeks prior to the carnival and the exceptional performances on the day reflect the efforts of our talented and hardworking students. There were thirteen individual records broken and three freestyle relay records broken.

Thank you to all the students who volunteered their time to assist throughout the day, and to the entire College Staff who worked tirelessly throughout the day. Without your expertise and enthusiasm, the carnival would not run as efficiently.

I would like to say a special thanks to those students who may not have placed, but still participated with enthusiasm throughout the day to gain valuable points for their House. The Swimming Carnival can present a challenge for those who are not strong swimmers and would prefer not to race. I am continually impressed by students who are willing to have a go and swim in a race that they know they cannot win, either for the good of their House or the relationship that they have with their House leaders. For me, this is without doubt, the most rewarding part of the Carnival. Well done!

Congratulations to both Kelly and Kirrane Houses for achieving our first ever tie in the 2017 Swimming Carnival. This is the first time there has ever been a tied result in twenty years of college carnivals. It was fantastic to see all Houses willing to get competitors into every race. This is a credit to the House Co-ordinators and their enthusiastic House Leaders.
