Hospitality students serve up a Mexican Fiesta

Year 12 Hospitality students conducted a full Mexican Fiesta themed function for family members on Tuesday evening that included great food, live music and table service.

The evening began with welcome mocktails and an entrée of Chicken Fajitas with Mexican style Grilled Corn. The Fajitas were served with homemade Guacamole and Salsa, while the corn had a Black Bean and Citrus Cream accompaniment. The main course was Chipotle Beef Cheeks in a Burrito bowl with Cilantro Lime Rice, and dessert was Dulce de Leche Cheesecake.

After dinner, the students served coffees and teas as well as a delicious Mexican Hot Chocolate with whipped cream.

Joanne Bunce from Hospitality Group Training WA attended to assess the students for their Certificate II in Hospitality, and commented on the high level of service and professionalism shown by all involved.

VET Coordinator Mr Matt Harslett also commended Hospitality teacher, Mrs Janet Mullany, for her considerable efforts in preparing the students for the event, as well as the combined support and involvement of other staff and students in creating such a great night.
