Year 6 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation at Our Lady of the Bay Church, in Busselton on Sunday 20 August.
All students in Year 6 have focused on learning about the sacrament and their own spiritual growth over the past term. The 44 candidates were very well prepared, with plenty of support from classmates during their journey.
On the big day, Bishop Gerard Holohan and Father Nick processed into a packed church with the enthusiastic candidates following behind. The Primary choir sang beautifully throughout the Mass, and Mr Grace accompanied them on piano.
“Seeing the students and their sponsors maturely accepting the Bishop's blessing were gorgeous moments,” remarked Year 6 teacher Ms Louise Leyden.
The Year 6 teachers and Mrs Somma are grateful to the many staff and families who helped to make the day a great success, including the Year 5 teachers and parents who prepared a very impressive morning tea, and all those who assisted during the Mass. “It has been a fulfilling and memorable time for our families and students,” said Ms Leyden.
