Year 9 Junior Master Chef Challenge

Year 9 Junior Master Chef Challenge

Another fierce Master Chef Challenge was held recently in the two Year 9 Food classes this term, with students preparing and plating up an array of impressive dishes for the judges in their bid to be crowned Junior Master Chef.

Tim Valmadre’s homemade pizza drew for third place in Wednesday’s class with Charlie and Ysabeau’s delicious Green Chicken Curry. Second place went to Josh Hay, Paul Dallos and Tom Walker for their homemade Sweet Potato Gnocchi, but the title of Junior Master Chef went to a decadent Chocolate Tart created by Sarah, Holly and Kayla.

Thursday’s class served up a brave Marinated Pork Ribs with Macaroni Cheese to earn third place for Cooper, Dylan and Connor. Sophie, Tenaya and Jaymee took out second place with their Rainbow Layer Cake, and the sweet tooth succeeded once again with a delicious Chocolate Peppermint Slice winning the crown for Katie, Bridhie and Abbie.

Congratulations to the winners and all the students who participated - amazing effort by everyone. Thank you also to the judges - Mr Papasergio, Mrs Reilly, Mrs Skinner, Mrs Taylor, Mr Cummins and Mrs Pickering – for your enthusiasm, comments and praise of the students.
