The 2019 Timor team left for Darwin on Thursday, before flying on to East Timor to begin what has been described by most participants as a ‘life-changing experience’ immersed in cultural exchange and service in the mountains around Baguia.
Accompanied by Miss Jackson, Mrs Venecourt and Mr Fabre, nine of our Year 12 students will spend several days sharing experiences with the schools and communities who have benefited from more than 15 years of fundraising and fellowship by our students and their families, with the generous support of the College and parish communities across the Capes region.
This year’s Timor Raffle was also drawn earlier this week, and we congratulate the following winners:
1st Prize = Lee Bell - Ticket #062
2nd Prize = Sharon Hinds - Ticket #183
3rd Prize = Charli Dowling - Ticket #141
Thank you to the nine students (Justin McClurg, Hannah Armstrong, Ibra’him Borat, Kristin Charles, Amelia Edwards, Aimee Horton, Beau Haynes, Kieren McPharlin, Ethan Milicich) and their families for the massive amounts of time, effort and talents they contributed to this worthwhile cause.
We wish the students and teachers an amazing trip, and look forward to hearing about their experiences when they return.
