Secondary Teacher – Year 7 Team

Commencing as soon as practical, this is an ongoing, full time position

A St Mary MacKillop College teacher encourages each student to discover and develop their interests and talents in order to become the best they can be. Providing innovative and best practice teaching, students will grow and develop lifelong learning attributes. Your role is to plan, organise and deliver educational programs, modelled within the Catholic Ethos, in a positive learning environment.

As a member of the Year 7 Team, you will have a Year 7 Homeroom and, dependent on your skill set, teach a combination of Religions Education, English, Mathematics, Science or HASS. You will play a pivotal role in shaping a supportive learning environment that ensures every student is prepared for the next phase of their educational journey. Middle and Senior School classes will make up the remainder of your teaching load.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Current registration with Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA).
  • Previous experience teaching upper primary or middle years in the above learning areas would be highly advantageous.
  • A willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the St Mary MacKillop College community, along with the ability to demonstrate the completion, or working towards, Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School.
  • A current Working with Children Check and a valid National Police Criminal History Check.

We are seeking someone that:

  • Encourages students to develop passion for learining by helping them to build confidence in their skills
  • Uses a range of strategies to help students grasp difficult concepts and assist students with learning difficulties.
  • Is competent with the use of technology in the classroom, online strategies and digital process software
  • Has demonstrated competence in adopting a range of strategies with students that enables them to grow and flourish.
