Six netball teams headed to Hay Park in Bunbury on Monday 18 June to compete in the South West Carnival for the High Schools Netball Cup, with two of our teams qualifying for the State Elimination Day in Perth next term.
The Year 8 girls put in a stellar performance in the wet conditions, remaining undefeated for the entire day to secure top spot on the ladder and finish as champions in the lower (Year 7/8) division.
The Open Boys team, consisting of Year 10 and Year 12 boys, also competed extremely well on the day, making it through to the grand final before going down in a hard-fought battle to a stronger team from Bunbury Cathedral Grammar.
Both of these teams will travel to Perth in August to compete for a spot in the state finals.
The Year 10 girls finished a commendable fourth in what was a strong Intermediate division, while our Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12 teams played their best and with great sportsmanship in all their matches against some tough competition in their respective divisions.
